argyle + print + flamingo legs

Today I realized I haven't worn a skirt or jeans in just forever. But  almost wore the exact same outfit again. Because of you, I tried something new. It will probably will be a smidge warmer, so I think it's a good choice :) A year ago, I would have been scared silly of this outfit, now I love it :)

red coat

this is my beautiful red coat that I got from H&M. One of my more spendy pieces, but so worth it. I need to learn to do that more. I love that it is so nice that I can wear this. Amazing, don't even need my transition coat. :)

i am demanding spring

I woke up at 8:30 this morning. Don't judge. For me, that's early. I would rather stay up until four in the morning, than get up at 7. But lately, I have realized that I am getting old. This super senior is slowly ridding herself of all-nighters....Well, since I was up 'early,' I was able to work out, shower and have a good attitude for the day. Thus, the crazy pose. I should get a normal sleeping schedule one of these days. Well in 2.5 months I will be graduating, so that should help :)

And yes, my elbows over-extend.
You should see what my thumbs can do.

mixture

I must say, the more I mix prints together, the more I love it. It's very quirky and something I would definitely not have done a year ago. And I do think that without this blog, I still wouldn't be doing it. Same for color. Looking at your outfits--well at least the ones you want the world to see--makes you see how you can get into a rut. I wear this skirt way too often, but it's the only knee-length skirt I have [not really feeling floor length right now] aside from my denim one. Time to go to Goodwill!

gray on gray

I love layering gray on gray. It can be such an elegant look, but just as casual. Sorry for the over-use of my Sears cardigans, but I don't have many long sleeves [which is a problem for someone who has lived in the Midwest her whole life] and I tend to over-wear clothes after I just purchase them. Something I have discovered this winter is socks! Wear knee highs with jeans. no one will even know and you will stay toasty.

poppy pink

I have my senior proposal critique today, so I wanted to look professional, but still stay warm [Illinois decided that December brings snow and blustery winds].

Feelin 50's

I wasn't able to get full length pictures because my family had gone camping for the weekend (I helped with a wedding on Saturday) and my full length mirror at home has a huge crack in it. The dress is a bit too short, so I wore a white skirt underneath it. I never would have thought of it on my own. I think I got the idea from Rachel at alamodest. Fabulous blog :) I put my hair up in a high ponytail and tied a black ribbon in it. I also had a white sweater, but it was hot after church so I had taken it off by the time I took pictures. oops

Blue flats

My friend Anne and I went shopping on Friday after finals. We were crazy to go then because neither of us had slept for three days. I got these fabulous shoes on sale at DSW. I love birthday coupons :)

Patterned Dress

This is my only bold patterned dress, and I quite love it. It's really fun to pair with bright shoes. The dress is really "swooshy" and fun to spin in. It lays really nice and is a jersey fabric so it's uber comfy.

Green Jacket

Sorry it has been so long since my last post. Oops. Promise I have been dressin' classy. (or at least have tried :) Anyway, thought I would post a picture of my awesome green jacket. And surprisingly I like pairing pink and green together. It's because they are complements.

Art school messes with your mind.

Suits

This is my favorite suit. Granted, my only full suit (and only appropriate for certain seasons). But it's my favorite nonetheless. Suits are expensive, but definitely a necessity. I recommend looking for one during great sales (read: after Christmas), but if you can't find the suit that fits you "perfectly," I have one word for you...tailor.
